Cafe

This is an oil painting done a short while back. I had some nice reference I took sitting at a restaurant that was really deep red everywhere. So I tried to do a play off the golden age illustrator Coles Phillips(thanks Kactiguy) and his dissapearing edges. It is an oil painting about 16"x20".

Man it's hard to type Russian with english letters but at least it hides my spelling.

Thanks for the comments.

Nice work Dave. You know, I think I wrote a paper on Coles Phillips for my History of Illustration class, and I had completely forgotten about him until reading your post. I guess I'll have to go back and rediscover why I chose to write a paper on him in the first place.
