I really enjoy drawing in my toned paper sketchbook. Just to have the ability to go in 2 value directions with the pencil gives you a lot more interest.
I love using my DalerRowney Earthbound sketchbook but I think I'll try the Strathmore one next, which I presume you are using here David? Your style is so inspiring,I really admire your simplicity and restraint, principles I really must try and learn; I always overwork my hatching, building up layer after layer up through the graphite grades until the paper is 'full'. I have to change my habits, and seeing your one or two grade drawings has really shown me what I could achieve if I could just hold back!
