fig. 57
My figure drawing from a couple weeks back. This is only the amount that would fit on the scanner but don't worry the rest isn't very good.

"......but don't worry the rest isn't very good." I bet it is! :)
It's so real beautiful image
Beautiful drawing, congrats !
David you are so funny. "isn't very good" doesn't describe any part of your artwork. It's all beautiful.
awesome as usual!
I've noticed that all of the models are in bikinis. Is nude figure drawing too risque in Utah? That must be frustrating.
that is awesome!
Unknown,
I am picking up on the smug tone of your comment, but I will let you know that most of my figure drawing is done at a session set up by my work and yes we have models that are partially clothed.
Now, no doubt your area of the world is far more advanced than mine but to be honest I don't see any huge advantage to nude versus partial nude. I don't think I have a preference but if your not able to draw one you wont be able to draw the other.
Oh, I didn't mean for that comment to come off as smug, but I guess it does. Sorry about that. I guess partial nude creates opportunities for interesting lines and value contrasts that fully nude doesn't.
I have nothing against conservative values, I just find it annoying that many people see nudity as sexual. I assume that is the case in Utah, which it may or may not be. It doesn't mean Utah is less advanced.
I apologize for being defensive. I definitely agree with your point on sexuality and nudity being tied together, I think by society. Doesn't seem to be factored into our perception of doctors for some reason.
I really don't think I have a preference when it comes to everyday drawing that I don't plan on framing I'll work either way. I am interested in getting better and a bikini is not going to prevent that.
I find it VERY hard to believe that "the rest isn't very good." Your work is beautiful!
Just gorgeous. Do you use a black nupastel/charcoal/conte for the dark lines and shadows, or does the sharp edge of the colored nupastel produce those darks?
I can get it pretty dark with the NuPastel but lately I've been punching it with Conte. It goes very dark and it stays dark.
