Your crosshatching work it so precise. If you don't mind me asking, how do you approach a piece like this? Do you block in the proportions and then just keeping adding value to areas until it's finished? Or is it more sketchy at first, and then you trace over it or just erase stray lines...?
Thanks guys, Logan, both. Mostly I work out the general shape and proportions and the build up the shading but a lot of the early work is pretty lightly handled then I can strengthen the line if its correct of erase if its off. Its not really sketchy early though, more like structural with blocked in shapes that get more specific.

Beautiful.
Inspiring! How much time do you spend on something like this?
I really like the hair and the shading under the jaw. Beautiful as always.
