I have to agree with you. While I often (always) have trouble getting the eyes to match one another, if I get through a drawing without having to redraw the mouth from scratch more than three times I'm doing well.
Beautiful sketch, and I can´t agree more with you, the mouth is the real challenge.
You are right - the most frequent comment I get after doing a portrait is "There's just something about the mouth . . ."
that's why i only draw things that don't have mouths!!

This is why most of my characters have muppet mouths. And, I might say this mouth turned out very nice considering your difficulty with it.
I think taken individually, eyes, nose, and mouth are pretty easy to draw. The real trick is getting them all positioned and sized correctly relative to each other, which is something you do amazingly well. Good work Dave!
