charcoal mess
A very messy figure drawing from night school. It's been okay and I enjoy the practice but I am ready to move on.
One tip If you are working with pastel or charcoal do your rubbing with the back of your hand and a paper towel. Rubbing with your fingers should be very limited because the oils seal the area making it nearly impossible to erase anywhere near the original paper color.

I had to figure that finger rubbing problem out the hard way. Knuckles definitely have less oil, but I seem to be able to rub with my pinkie if I was my hand right before, and sometimes while, drawing,
Good tip... I never thought of that :) Love the simplified line work in this drawing!
Hog hair brush and/or make up sponges are good too.
beautiful drawing!
Great point, hard earned. Did my teachers leave this out on purpose? Doubtfull. Gotta try the makeup sponge now!
