This was done before the previous 2 and for that its not quite right with all the proportions. I hadn't found the time to draw for a long while so I guess this is the break-in sketch. I find it takes a drawing or two to get back into my grove, thank goodness it sticks with me.
I know you get tired of hearing this, but I love your hatching! those proportions are awesome!
ReplyDeleteAwesome man . . . and I'm with Sam, your hatching is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'm with these guys. Hatching is a lost art but ....WOW!
ReplyDeleteI wish I "got back in the groove" as well as you.
david,
ReplyDeletelike every other work by you, this also is of high quality...
the expression on the face of the subject is wonderfully captured...
Awesome line work. When learning to play the guitar my instructor told me that not playing for a day or two can bring new incites into how one approaches playing. I think this follows through with most art forms. So maybe you feel rusty from not sketching but maybe you are improving from where you were before. Not that where you were before was a bad place.:) I find much inspiration from your art; thank you for posting it.
ReplyDeletebeautiful drawing!
ReplyDeleteI agree, wonderful sketch!
ReplyDeleteHi, please tell me how do you transfer a drawing from a paper onto canvas? Do you use the grid or some other mean?
ReplyDeleteThanks all
ReplyDeletemiljenko, I usually xerox it up to the correct size then tape it down and use transfer paper. Drawing over the lines with blue pen.
Es genial el trazo que posees... tiene la categorÃa gráfica de artistas como Amsel y Drew.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Dave!
ReplyDeleteThanks, David, I guess an extra effort in the initial stage pays off.
