I made my first pilgrimage to Walt Disney World last week, that place is unbelievably cool. The Animal Kingdom was so impressive artistically, they do such a great job making cool environments. I was happy to see new visitors when I returned, thanks for all the comments. I haven't had time to work, but here are some newer drawings. I like lost lines. The second is easily identifiable (see The Godfather II, the best movie ever).
Nice works!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your Leyendecker study!

Amazing drawings Dave!
ReplyDeletewonderfull!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing that Animal Kingdom is artistic, because it's about a two-mile walk between attractions. I love the Tree of Life... very cool. I heard what they did was sculpt a tree, then they based what animals went where on what the weird bumps and curves most resembled. I love Disney World... must go back soon.
ReplyDeleteThese are great, Dave... as always.
Your Al Pacino almost looks like a Mort Drucker Sketch. Awesome stuff as always.
ReplyDeletefine fine stuff!
ReplyDeleteI envy your linework -
cheers-

excellent - your pencil and painter renderings are awe inspiring. the pacino sketch is superb, it's the linework you omitted that most artists persist with. The few well thought out simple strokes show the mark of a master.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketches Dave, great line quality. Thanks for posting 'em!
ReplyDeletevery impressive work. thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAm with you on Godfather II Dave, it's up there for me too. Lovely sketches sir.

Thanks so much for your comment, now I've seen your work I'm really honoured! You really are a master of everything you do, that's so unusual. I'm inspired by your sketches here. I've heard others talk about lost and found lines but never seen done so well. Amazing stuff!
ReplyDeleteBTW, is that a big art community in Utah?
Thank you Felicity,
ReplyDeleteWe have a really talented little group working at this disney video game company, and I think Utah does have a lot of artists per capita. But no real art community. Maybe it's the water?
