oh pioneer
Based on a cool old time sepia photo I came across. I apologize if this is your great grand aunt. The finish work on this ended up taking forevah, but I think I am pleased with it. Sometimes you work and work forever on especially finish work, then I can't really say whether it is necessarily worse or better. It gets very subjective. Whatever, it's up and I can wash my hands of it, then move on to another old time photo.

Nice! Lots of fun. Those eyes are intense.
Beautiful - but why did you flip it?
Wow!
beautiful! You can still see it's meant to be an "ancient" person, but all of a sudden she is very alive!
She looks like Putin's daughter ,David.:o)How are you these days?
I stumbled across your blog while blog hopping and I wanted to say hello. I love your work. I want to draw like you when I grow up( I am 40). besides all the great artwork here , You also made me laugh:)
Have a great day and I look forward to following you .
whoa she definitely just saw my soul.
thank you, pioneer woman. thank you.
impressive as always. keep it up!
I am sorry, to disturb you, but in the final drawing, her neck seems to be bend too much and her ears are slightly too big to be from a woman. I love the colors and her intense stare.

If you change the Hair and from the neck downwards, you could easily change this picture to a portrait of a man. Then you don't even need to touch the ears.

wow, old looking, but new-great piece
Wonderful! Wonderful! It does have that antique photograph feel to it.
Amazing your paintings!
Specially I enjoyed whith oil painting.
And thanks for posting tuturials. These are great and educative.
Man, beautifully done, creepy eyes!
great render.eyes are so lively.
This portrait is mesmerizing! Beautiful!
Superb realism! But what really caught my eye is that unusually childlike expression on her face and those ears sticking out of her head. It's like she is up to some mischief.
