This is a recent figure drawing I did in the class I taught. Unfortunately the class was only 2 hours, which is no where near enough time to do a full drawing. Plus, being the teacher limited my time even more. But I revisited this one for 30 minutes last night, cleaning
up lines and things. Done in Nu pastel on 18" x 24" paper.
Impressive!
ReplyDeleteYou did this in two hours while teaching? I'm lucky if I can find something to draw with in that much time. Really nice, Dave.
ReplyDeleteI'm stunned. Actually, your work shows why it is so important to work from live models! Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteNicw quality of line on the core shadow. I love the vanishing edge of the forward calf.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful David. I love the lost edges.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me sneak into your class Dave (wait, know you know I was in there). Devastatingly nice drawing for two hours.
ReplyDeleteQuit complaining. This looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you've used light, shadow, contrast. Beautiful, dramatic. Another outstanding piece!
ReplyDeletewow, i cant even do a lay-in in 2 hours......
ReplyDeletefascinating drawing skills Dave...
ReplyDeleteI'm fond of your figure drawings...
Awesome, where did you teach? And why wasn't I there ...
ReplyDeleteYou already know I love your drawings, and I've really been diggin' the nu pastel ones. They make me want to go back to figure drawing workshops, and that's a big deal coming from me. Gorgeous as always!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Your know when to make it smooth or sharp, line work is also very nice!
