The Godfather

Nobody likes Gilligan anymore so here is something a little darker. The Godfather slightly stylized oil on board painting. This is an older work, but oil painting with black and white is always a good way to learn how to paint without the headache of colors. And The Godfather I and II are great movies.

  1. Hi Dave
congratulations again for all you brilliant works and thanks a lot for the kind words you posted on my blog!!!
and thank you for being such a "pattern" (don't know if I can say that that way...), I'm a beginner in digital painting and I'm learning a lot by looking at your works, (Ryan's and Seb's too... ;-) ), you can't imagine how influent you are!
so continue to make us dream this way!!

  2. Thanks for the comments.
I've drawn all my life. It's just been something I have always been strongly drawn to and enjoyed. I'm only 26 despite my elderly profile picture but a lot of drawing through my high school years helped me get to my accurate drawing but the painting only came around the last 3 or 4 years. But the drawing is the most important in my opinion.

  3. Really nice work, Dave. The shapes on the face & hands are a real treat to look at.

  4. I love how it looks kind of graphic... graphic-like... graphic-esque. I don't know how to say what I meant to say. I'll just say it the way I know how: nice.
